I was born on the 12th June 1981 in Nuenen. The years after that I gained four sisters! I started singing and acting with my sisters, all dressed up, for my parents. We had much fun and still laugh when we think back to that time.

When I got older I started singing at my primary school. When we had the week or month closure on the school stage or just with friends walking around on the playground, singing. My friends always let me sing the "nicest" and most difficult parts. In the last year of that school, I was given the lead part of our final musical. The main reason was that the part had a solo song in it. So this was my first real stage and solo experience, and I liked it!

Almost two years after that I was asked to sing in a band. I started out as a background singer, but soon became the lead singer. I also started to take singing lessons so I could sing even better.After a bunch of performances at local bars and our high school, the band started to compose music for a rock musical. This wasn't really my thing so I went my own way.

Soon I auditioned for a few musicals, Fame and Hair. However, puberty caught up with me and singing became a lesser priority.

A few years after that a friend of my parents heard me sing and told a friend of his, Harry van Hoof a producer. He couldn't help me and send me to another producer, Ed van Otterrdijk. Because of a difference in style, he also couldn't help me. My family, friends and singing coach insisted that I continued singing, so I did. Hopefully I could make my hobby a job one day!

New-year’s Eve 2005, I performed on stage again after a long time. I felt great and the adrenaline flowed through me! I want more of this! After searching more material I got back on stage again. This time I feel even better and people who heard me gave great compliments! They reacted really positive. So I wanted to go for it!

I now have a good looking website, two more demo's, am singing in a cover band which is called "Dames" and in a band called SoundXpress and I produce my own music.          

This is me, Erica, someone who loves to sing and loves it when people hear her and get enthusiastic! Together we can enjoy great music.
